I don’t know how this is or should be called, but it seems like a general paradox. Finding something we do not deserve would take us a few steps back - relative to its significance - not forward.

There’s an interesting similar dilemma about winning the lottery or becoming a CEO of a large corporation. That seems like taking shortcuts to pass a few critical steps in the learning process.
