About expectations

Expectations bear hidden undesirable consequences, even to your own benefit. When you get that feeling to help others, that feeling should be without expectations. And that actually proves more rewarding even for you.

Alex Mathers wrote an excellent article on behaviors that make you more respectable. The part about expectations tied to ‘charity’ made me think about the dynamics and the energy of giving.

It sounds funny when you perceive the giving from this angle — if you want your giving to be more self-rewarding, you have to expect nothing in return.

Any kind of expectation will spoil the quality of your action!
