I believe it depends (a lot) on your problem-solving ‘skills.’ If you don’t solve a certain problem, or were expected to, that might be a way of covering up your failures or incompetence.
Nice statement: “Western culture permits little time to grieve.” Sounds like a norm. If you haven’t managed to come over by that time, you are weak, or have failed to get over it completely?!?
