I believe this is one of the biggest misconceptions about proper nutrition, especially for obtaining optimal weight.
We focus on calories. Although, I am tempted to say it’s not about calories at all, that’s not entirely true. The answer is always in the balance.
But we have completely neglected the second, equally (nowadays a lot more) important thing - nutrients.
We mostly consume processed foods which are nutrient-poor and then focus solely on calories.
In our nutrient-deprived nitrition we need to focus more on nutrients.
But again, not in counting them and consuming them in any processed isolated form, but in their natural bioactive form.
We need to focus on getting enough food in its natural form.
