I have a bit of stoic influence as well. My cautions speak against wanting to maintain control.
Ss control stems from fear (of not being sufficient).
I learn to spot as many small patterns to… learn and to be aware of what might happen.
Isn’t that a part of being conscientious? Not avoiding anything, but trying to understand and, instead of fear, trusting yourself to be informed and competent to face your challenges.
That just reminds me of a wallpaper I have created of a resting great lion and the line:
