Is there a rule (or a reason) for blocking posters of comments with links to their stories (supporting the comment)?

A writer (10k+ followers, 10yrs on Medium) politely warned that she will block me if I continue posting comments with links to my articles. She saw that as unethical.

I think she fears competition on Medium. Although I believe Medium is about sharing ideas, not protecting your pile of readers/followers against competition.

There is no external competition with writing and sharing ideas, I believe.
