It is interesting how we (whoever, actually) were able to conclude that the HPV virus causes cancer.
Viruses are considered as systemic cleaners (garbage collectors), disintegrators. Which means they are always present where something is wrong is going on.
A study by University of California, done in 2018 and published in PubMed (but nobody seems to seriously consider) found that we generally have no clue what viruses are doing in our body. No clue!
Besides, they realized that they were unable to identify 99,5% of gathered viruses against the known global virus register.
If I add that we consider ourselves pretty advanced in battling viruses and cancer, and then still see cancer as a very deadly disease, something must be wrong here.

If I have made you think, go read my first comment (again). I’m not sure what works (although I am pretty much convinced), but I see what doesn’t work. And the latter involves our view on cancer, our view on microbes, and our view on treatment.
We are taking the wrong steps (again).
