It’s interesting to read this and think - scary level of focus.

To me, it sounds like (hyper)specialization. Being deadly focused on one thing (if you want to be the best), and letting everything else aside.
Focused (on one thing) and being 100% sure about everything else in your life?

That doesn’t sound too balanced. To me, balanced means knowing your options - risks and deviations, and steering in between.
Focusing on one thing and disregarding the rest does not.

What are we missing here?

It reminds me of Jordan Peterson, explaining about some of his ultra-successful friends, and things we don’t see.
They have to pay for the success, accepting such heavy life decisions most of us could not handle.

Ultra-focused and successful just doesn’t equal balanced, happy, and satisfied.
