Nice one, the reward is not in the physical form like payment or your bosses tap on your shoulder.
That’s not really worth it. What is worth of your effort (to do your best) is the recognition that your approach was productive, that you found a good solution (or your solution works), and that you got things done.
Actually, when you don’t make it or make a ignorant mistake, is also valuable. If you let it simmer in and not seek avoidance, you will experience enough unpleasant feelings to produce a strong hormonal juice to store a strong memory which actually become ls a part of your intuition on how not to do it and analyse and seek a (better) solution.
That’s how we learn by experience. And learning on mistakes is very valuable.

I usually say that on a ‘rollercoaster of life’ we should not brake on the way down because we are gaining speed to travel back up when we turn.
And I consider avoiding responsibility and seeking excuses as ‘braking on your way down’.
