That’s a very interesting remark. I believe in both cases (getting it from women and men) it has a lot to do with one’s level of ego maturity. And that is not easy to overcome. I would agree that more men agressively react when their ego is hurt/attacked. But not exclusively.
Basically, I believe it has to do with one’s balanced masculine and feminine side. And (from being raised in such spirit) many men hide and opress their feminine side.
